The work was done promptly. I won't know if it was done well until it rains but it seemed like a good job. The office refused to put the job address separate from the payers address. They seemed offended that I would want the bill made out correctly for taxes. If your job is in an office, 5 seconds of typing doesn't seem like it would be that hard.

Replaced my old leaky gutters. Two very competent workers worked steadily all during the day to replace one section of water-damaged fascia board and install new gutters. They occasionally consulted with me on placement of the downspouts - which I appreciated. Both were very courteous and friendly. Very pleased with the work and they took my old gutters for recycling - again greatly appreciated. After the work was completed the crew cleaned up. Highly recommend this company and the family members who own and run it.

Skylight installation and roof repair was exceptional - everything was completed in 2 days. Bob Balken and his crew were very courteous and efficient, and left my surroundings very clean and tidy. I couldn't be more pleased. I also appreciated the coordination services of Lauren and Heather Balken in getting on the schedule and follow-up confirmation before the date of installation. A wonderful Christian family and exceptional family business. Should I need skylight or roofing services in the future, I will definitely utilize Balken Roofing.
Great Pipe Boot Repair

The repair guys, Giovanni and his colleague (regret I didn't get his name) did a fantastic repair on all three pipe boot replacements. Gio is an artist in the gutter world. I also appreciated the extra time Steve took on his first visit to match my shingles since I didn't have any on hand. Since this job was only for repairs (under $1K) I wish the actual contract could have been written on-site when Steve first visited rather than having to go back through the main office. I understand if I was having full roof replacement--costing many thousands of dollars, a contract that large should be written at the office and emailed for signature. For smaller projects, though, contacting at the site might get customers on the schedule sooner. However, that slight inconvenience would NOT keep me from calling Balken Roofing again. For our home, this is our roofing company since I've used them before for a gutter repair (again, Gio did fabulous work on that earlier job also).

Balkan Roofing did such a wonderful job on my roofing project. They not only had to do new roofs for my house and cottage, but coordinate taking off the roof for the electrician to put wiring in an inaccessible area, and with the insulation to be blown in another area with no access. Chad explained how they could work with the other services and do their job. Steve was a wonderful job manager with a wonderful crew. They were unobtrusive, polite, helpful and excellent craftsmen. Plus they cleaned up immaculately each day. I am already telling all my friends how highly I recommend Balkan Roofing and will continue to praise them.

We met with and received proposals from four roofing contractors and chose Balken for their guidance on shingle brands (the only contractor that sold both main brands), their price, the warranty and their reputation. We made the right choice. In addition, Heather worked with us on scheduling, as we were coordinating the timing of another house project and contractor. The communication, from the initial visit, to the estimate, phone calls regarding scheduling and on the day of installation was professional and clear - managing our expectations completely at every stage. Balken delivers more than they promise. A great product and service, but a level of professionalism that instills confidence. Highly highly recommended. Plus - our roof looks fabulous!

After being put off for 2 months, Balken did everything it could to move my project up. My suggestion is to do a more accurate estimate of length of time for a project and figure in some weather delays. I've never had better service from any company than I had with Balken. The estimator, the office personal, the workmen, were all exceptional. I appreciated the call letting me know when they would arrive, exactly what to expect, and when I should pay them. The workers left the area around my house cleaner than when they arrived, they were efficient and cheerful even though it was extremely hot and humid. This is really a family company, it seemed like half the folks I dealt with were Balkens and they wanted everything to be perfect. I know I could have gotten a cheaper roof, but you get what you pay for and every penny was well spent with Balken. I would recommend them to anyone in need of roofing or anything else they handle.
